Only a few minutes from Ladysmith and the Nanaimo City Centre, Yellow Point is close enough to stay attached to the business word yet far enough away to get lost in it all. 15 years ago I turned a little barn in my back yard into my studio, a mere 20 steps, or so, from my back door… I know, the commute is hell!
Originally the studio and the surrounding grounds were a little rough. But now, along with my wife, we have transformed the yard into a gardening mecca. The studio is now covered in Virginia creeper and peaches, and is surrounded by stone paths, waterfalls and other landscaping.
When the weight of designing and “staring at the screen” gets to be too much I simply get outside and work in the gardens for some stress relief… in the spring that’s probably where you’ll find me!
